Description: Specimens from MCC-Blue River’s collection of Eocene plant and insect fossils from the Florissant Fossil Beds, Colorado. Shown are examples of sequoia (Redwood) needles, cattail leaves, beech leaves, willow leaves, and insects preserved in shale deposited by Lake Florissant during a time when Colorado was a warm-temperate forest.
